The start of Raetihi' s saddlery and leather trade began 8 1 years ago in the building which is now the Wellington Cafe.

In 1931 it was relocated to "Bowaters Saddlery" after being en-

larged and renovated from Mr Mosen's Saddlery and Bootmaker

in business Shop. The trade began in Raetihi in 1908 by Mr Wiseman. He started what was to become a generation of family dedication and part of a Bowater heritage. That heritage began with James Bowater, a saddlery apprentice under Mr Wiseman's instruction. Later James took
