ONE IN THE HOLE
Waimarino Golfers like a hole in one but one of their number got one in the hole recently - that's a car in the ditch. Club stalwart Pat Goldfinch (the oldest) had been avoiding the bunkers all day but driving home, he sliced a shot at a corner and drove into the rough and into the roadside hazard. He was lucky to retrieve his Mitsubshi without incurring a penalty shot and safely made it to the 20th green (home).
