Staff at Waiouru's Oasis Hotel and patrons of the restaurant will miss the happy, friendly face of Lynette Curruth as she leaves Waiouru for Trentham with her family this week. Of the 5 1/2 years Lynette has lived in Waiouru, she has worked at the Oasis Hotel for four and a half years and is the longest serving member of the staff. When she began at the Oasis Lynette was employed as a housemaid. She then moved on to waitressing then cooking, then in assisting with management of the kitchen. Lynette has seen the hotel management change three times. First she was employed by Ron and Betty Biss, then Hancocks until the lease sold to the current owner Bill McLean, with manager Margaret Sue. Lynette says she is sad to be leaving Waiouru as it is such a friendly, homely town and she enjoys the relaxed pace compared to cities. But off the positive side Lynette looks forward to the new life and has already found
herself a job waitressing at the Totara Park Lodge' and says she has found a gym where she can continue to keep up her jazzercise classes which she enjoys.
Lynette's husband George is in the Army and is part of the School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering that has been relocated to Trentham.
