No 3 Bulletin, by hand!

On Tuesday 21 June the third issue of the Bulletin was being put together, by hand. Pictured are the people who helped collate and fold the 16 page Waimarino Bulletin (now the Ruapehu Bulletin ).

We've worked out who three of these volunteers are: in the check shirt at left is Dawn Hinana; in the white top is Stella Mills and in the background is Girl Munn. At that time the paper was printed at the Raetihi Printing Company in Seddon Street. Now Wanganui Newspapers print the Bulletin and, thankfully, have an automatic collating system (imagine putting together 7000 copies of a 28 page paper!). News in that edition

covered the latest Ohakune Borough Council meeting (they stopped a mini bike activity because of noise), the Waiouru Community

Advisory Committee meeting, profiled the then new Waiouru Army Training Group commander (Colonel Bruce Meldrum), covered pro-

motion programmes for Raetihi and Ohakune, carrot recipes, new businesses, the Okahu Hereford bull sale, and sports.
