Waimarino golf

Sunday the 20th saw a good crowd compete in the first round of the Club Championships and the McKay Cup. Results of the competition were as follows: Senior, R Starke and S Magee both scored 38 points with R Starke winning on the toss. B Goldfinch came in with 37 points with G Allerby and T Fredricks Jnr on 36.

Junior, M Hays returned a very good card with 45 points to take 1st prize plus the Roarers Mug. D Herewini 41, P Evans 40, Ces Allerby 39, T Geraghty 39 with Glen Spry. L Drinkwater, W Marsh and H Geraghty all on 38 points. Two's were G Allerby and E Rush. G Allerby also won the senior birdsnest. The day's golf was sponsored by Joce's

Flowers and Waimarino Livestock. Saturday the 26 th, the club is holding the Turoa Tournament starting at the nine hole course at Turoa Village. Draw at 9.30. Entry fee $15 which includes lunch and Two's.
