"Learn to ski" successful

The industry wide "Learn to Ski for $10" package was a tremendous success at Whakapapa Ski Area, says RAL. Over the nine day

period nearly 3000 people took advantage of the cheap offer and gave it a go. The oldest was 66 and the youngest 3. The weather was perfect for almost the entire period and there were lots of happy first-timers enjoying RAL's Happy Valley facilities. "It stretched our resources to the max," said Scott Lee, Marketing Manager for RAL, "but we were thrilled to introduce so many people to skiing. "The mailbox of our Ski School Director, Patrick Simmen has been clogged with letters from school children expressing their thanks for the assistance given by his team of instructors." Nationwide, the programme was a huge success and the N.Z. Ski Council are already planning a similar promotion for next year.
