"Plan to pass"
With Term Two over senior students should be preparing and starting a revision programme. Success in exams comes with careful, planned revision and the old adage "no-one plans to fail" still is relevant. A carefully organised programme started now will have a major influence on future successes. Thirty six senior students have just completed an educational
trip to Wellington and the surrounding area. The trip has been a great success and the experience a valuable one for all involved. The community support for this trip was pleasing, with parents, staff and members of the business community assisting us. On Wednesday 40 students and ten supporters attended the Mathex competition in Wanganui. Not only was the enthusiasm of
the students and the support from staff* and parents a feature, but the excejlent results an added bonus. One of the 5th form teams gained a second place and the 4th form teams also scored particularly well. All teams competed with credit and the improving results are pleasing to see. With the end of the winter sports season approaching I would like to thank all those who have supported our
sports teams. This includes the coachies, parents, supporters, referees and the various associations who organise the sports. In a smaller rural area it is vital our students get the same opportunities Colleges in larger centres have. I am confident that our local communities can provide the range of experiences required.
