Army basketball
The Inter Region Army Basketball Tournament was hosted by Central at Fort Dorset Wellington on- 26-29 July 1989. Waiouru's Womens . team played and won | six games, and the Mens team played six and won one. The following were selected to represent the New Zealand Army at the Interservice Basket-
ball Toumament to be hosted by the Police on 20-24 August. Women: LCpl R.A.D. Te Paa WTD, Dvr W.M. Cunningham 4 COMP SQN, Pte D Neho 4 SUP COY. Men" Lt N Nelson WTD, LCpl N Takuira-Mita 4 COMP SQN. Wendy Cunningham was selcted as the most outstanding female player of the recent tournament.
