Rural voice vital

Rural people must get their "act together" and do something about seeing they are ably represented on the new Area Health Board. That message was given by Wanganui Area Health Board representative Betty Bourke this week. She was speaking at the annual Waimarino Hospital "Thank You Day", which is held to show appreciation to the many groups and individuals who help the hospital. Mrs Bourke reminded Waimarino people that Wanganui and the Waimarino will be lumped in together with the whole Wanganui district and city. This new one-Wanganui area will be represented by three elected members. Under the new board division, it is possible that this area will not be represented by a resident board member unless someone stands and wins a place on the board.
