GAPS IN NEXT YEAR'S EVENTS CALENDAR
A great diversity of events have been registered for the 1990 commemorations calendar but the 1990 Commission says there are still some gaps. More than 1200 events have been registered but the commission sees a need for events to involve such groups as the elderly, youth and women and in areas such as health, tourism, the environment, agriculture, recreation, sport and trade and industry. One more Waimarino event has been added to the calendar, the Waimarino Rodeo which is to be held 17&18 March next year. Normally the rodeo is a one day, national circuit event but next year an extra day for the locals has been added to the programme.
