Prices Pharmacy introduced Constance Carroll colour and beautician representative Dianne Reynolds from Auckland to their customers last week. Dianne showed interested customers, throughout the day the importance and correct procedure of cleansing the skin and applying make-up. Dianne said she generally found models during her exhibition preferred the soft natural look as opposed to strong vibrant colour combinations. Along with pharmacist Lynette Price and assistance Rachel Scarrowi Dianne joined in with a class of teenagers at an evening at the Raetihi School Hall last week, working in pairs creating and developing beautician skills and self image. The class consisted of eight girls who experienced the simpleness involved in taking a little more concern about themselves. Dianne, expressed the importance of colour and how it effects our mood and lifestyle, without our awareness. An example she used was in the colour red. Red is associated with fast, erotic movement - e.g. fire engines, sports cars etc. Statistic show that more red cars are pulled up for speeding
and also that children occupying a room with a red combination are generally hyperactive. Prison walls are more recently being painted
pink to produce the feeling of calmness. Whereas blue produces a cooling effect as in icecream palours and surgical rooms.
