Nine days of Turoa skiing

Turoa had a great weekend with about 4000 skiers judging from a car count, said Turoa PRO Wendy Sutton. The weather was clear fine and cairn and snow on trail was packed powder. Lifts skiable were the Alpine meadow platters 1 &2, the Giant Chairlift to mid station, the High Noon T Bar with the Jumbo T Bar up and running on Sunday. Off trail skiing was not recommended because of rocks, said Mrs Sutton though some people were leaving the groomed trails. She said yesterday, Monday 24 July, was Turoa's ninth day of operation and that they had had no closed days so far.
