Three hundred Waimarino school children from Standard four to Form Two level took part in a sports day with a difference last Wednesday. The children, from Ohakune, Raetihi Waiouru, Orautoha, Ngamatea and Rangataua schools were mixed up into seven member teams to try out rugby, volleyball, hockey, soccer, and netball. Ruapehu College students refereed the games, which are run by the Ruapehu School Sports Association to provide a noncompetitive, social sports day.
