BAD DEBTS FOR COUNCIL

Councillors were upset to hear at their last meeting the number of bad sundry item debts the council is carrying. Mayor Workman asked why the council isn't cutting the water off to ratepayers who were way overdue with sundry payments, some for more than two years. Cr Errol Sue said the water supply should be cut for some ratepayers. "We'll repossess the water," he said. y The earliest amount owing to the council was for $578 for extraordinary refuse collection, from June 1986. The total amount of bad debts was $32,995. Outstanding rates owed to the council, as at the date of their last meeting was $375,807. with the names filline 11 naces
