After their 38 year's living in Raetihi we 'bon voyage' Moira and Brain Haitana who left for Melbourne recently to experience a new life across the Tasman. Moira was born in Raetihi and is the third daughter of Murray and Alice Hawira, now living in Wanganui, and Brian is the second son of Jean and the late Jim

Haitana, also of Raetihi. Brian, also known as Fish, is respected for his ability in landscaping, brick and plaster work, while Moira worked in the Raetihi Trust Bank office. Both served as squash club committee members for a number of years. Brian will continue working his trade in Melbourne. Of their two

children Jason, 18, will remain in Ohakune training as a butcher and Nina, 14, will accompany her parents. Both Brian and Moira say they have loved the Waimarino area, claiming it to be an excellent location for bringing up a family, but they believe is is important to seek new opportunities and change when it comes along.
