ICE SHUTS UP TEACHERS

Here's a couple of women with genuine Kiwi ingenuity - pity they haven't got a bit more of it! Ohakune Primary School teachers Jude Glennie and Caroline Giles found themselves snowed out of their car on the shortest day - the doors had frozen themselves shut. Jude was smart though, and opened the hatch and cHmbed into the driver's seat and started the car. Meanwhile Caroline de-iced the windscreen then followed through the hatch, closing it after her, then taking her co-driver's position. The ice hazard so easily surmounted, the pair drove off to school, absolutely chuffed with themselves. The dreaded ice turned out to be still a hazard, however - the pair found themselves iced in, with the doors and windows still frozen shut. And the hatch? well that won't open from the inside. So, they sat there and talked shop (what else do school teachers talk about?) and waited for someone to hear their cries for help.
