'Quiznight the best yet': organisers

Organisers of last Friday's Plunket Quiz Night held at the Ohakune Club, say the night was hugely successful. Thirty-eight teams of four registered for the event, with a Raetihi team emerging the

winners. Competition was fierce for first place, with 'The Jigs' taking the honours. 'The College Crew' were in second position, with 'Telecom' in third place. First and second prizes totalling $75,

were donated back to the Ohakune Plunket. A number of spectators took advantage of the evening to join in completing question sheets. Plunket volunteers had the unenviable job of deciphering some of

the answers, with many of the evenings "gems" announced by Quiz Mistress Merrilyn George. Members of the losing team 'Amazing Idiots', were each presented with a bag of marbles, supposedly to

give them a head start on next year's competition. Organisers thanked Brian Dowcett for the use of upstairs of the Ohakune Club, and Ruapehu College, for use of desks and chairs during the evening.
