New challenge for officer

"I am looking forward to the challenge of being Waiouru's new ambulance officer" said Mr Terry Fisk while in Waiouru last Wednesday.

July 3 is the start date for the new service and both Mr Fisk and Mr Dennise Goodwin* senior ambulance officer from Wanganui, are keen to get the service running.

As it is an entirely new operation they say they are expecting some early teething problems but hope to sort them out as soon as possible. Mr Fisk's role as well

as being an ambulance officer will be to co-or-dinate and train volunteers to assist with the service. He also plans

to run first aid courses in the community. Mr Fisk and his wife move to Waiouru from Palmerston North.
