Ruapehu logo

Waimarino District Council's logo, designed by Ohakune graphic artist Dennis

Beytagh, is to be modified to become the new Ruapehu District Council's. RDC General Manager Cliff Houston recommended the logo, with "Waimarino" replaced by "Ruapehu", be adopted for the council. He said the logo has all the necessary elements needed to represent the Ruapehu Dis-

trict and is sufficiently recent not to be superseded. He said it was not firmly entrenched in one area, and that no attempt had been made by the Waimarino District Council to use the logo extensively. The logo incorporates Mount Ruapehu and Ngauruhoe and depicts the six major rivers that flow from the mountain.
