JARRA GOING GOING GONE TO THE MAN ON THE OTHER WAVELENGTH
Railway sleepers! That reminds Gossip about a Raetihi auction and Luigi (John Hotter to some), the famous Turoa collector of interesting bits and pieces. Our man Luigi decided he'd have a use for a few railway sleepers, if the price was right. Come bidding time no-onc was prepared to pay more than Luigi for the sleepers - no wonder, Luigi was bidding for a bundle while everyone else was bidding for them on a price per sleeper. Discussions later with the auctioneer got John . even Hotter, as the man with the hammer was adamant he had explained quite clearly what was for sale. If anyone's got a cheap safe for sale, Luigi wants one to keep his jarra in. Whaddami Bid?
