Manager starts
Reg Barrett, General Manager Designate of the Manawatu-Wanganui Regional Council, officially took up his position this week. The first task of the new General Manager will be to define the role and functional structure of the Council. He will also be formu-
lating job descriptions for the staff of the Uniting Authorities. The Regional Council will come into being on November 1 1989 and will be created from the present catchment boards, drainagc boards, ' noxious plants authorities, pest destruction boards and united councils.
