Catering competition

Chefs and stewards from five areas of New Zealand will meet and compete in the Roy Smith Catering Competition next weekend in Waiouru. Those who compete this year will be eligible not only to win the prestigious winner's trophy, but also in the Maggi Cup - a bi-an-nual inter-services competition to be held in Christchurch later in the year.

The representative team will consist of two chefs and two stewards. The competition involves preparing a set course hot meal and 'cold larder' work. The stewards will be invojved with serving and preparing a dessert in front of a panel of judges. Next week's Bulletin will feature photos of the competition winners.
