The spectacle of an historic train steaming through the Ruapehu region is to be part of this year's Queen's Birthday carnival, based at Ohakune. Locomotive KA 945 will haul a train load of passengers to Ohakune for the Queen's Birthday Saturday carnival, then on Sunday will chug on up to Taumarunui for a sightseeing trip.
