OHAKUNE STATION'S NEW OWNER

The proud owner of a genuine ex-New Zealand Railways station (to continue to be used as one!) is bungy jumping entrepreneur Chris Allum, who is planning to add on to the station building to house his "New Sensations" alternative sports shop. He bought the station and two acres of land from Railways recently

and has a number of ideas on how to make use of the old buildings. While showing the Bulletin around the station Chris decided that under the verandha •was a perfect place for making bungy cords, a chore that must be done almost daily by all serious commercial bungy jumping operators, says Chris.
