Waiouru Saddle club finishes off season
Early in April the children of the Waiouru Saddle Club held their end of season ribbon day.
In all 29 children took part in the several games and events all
riding their horses. There were four classes of riders for the events
and the results are: Class 1 Best Posltion: 1st, A King; 2nd, L Wilson; 3rd, D Teau; 4th, S Van Lent. Bending Race: 1st, D Emmens; 2nd, S Van Lent; 3rd, L Wilson; 4th, J Emmens. Water Carrying Race: 1st, d Teau: 2nd, D Emmens; 3rd, J
Wilton; 4th, J Emmens. Lead-Walk-Trot Race: 1st, D Emmens: 2nd, J Wilton; 3rd, T Emmens; 4th, M Towgood. Waking Race: 1st, T Emmens; 2nd, M Towgood; 3rd, J Wilton; 4th-, S Van Lent/J Emmens. Class 2 Best Posltion: 1st, S Alexander; 2nd, H Van Lent; 3rd, F Baker;
4th- J Wilton/H King. Bending Race: 1st, F Baker; 2nd, A Towgood; 3rd, H King; 4th S Walton. Sack Race: 1st, J Wilton; 2nd, H Van Lent; 3rd, S Alexander; 4th, S Walton. Water Carrying Race: 1st, S Diamond; 2nd- H Van Lent/A Towgood; 3rd- H King/S Vartha. Lead-Walk-Trot Race: 1st, S Walton; 2nd, H King; 3rd, A Towgood; 4th, H Van Lent. Class 3 best Position: 1st, J Isherwood; 2nd, R Corlett; 3rd, V MacDonald; 4th, S Bath. Washington Bending: 1st, L Robinson; 2nd, R Corlett; 3rd, J Isherwood; 4th S Bath. Musical Sacks: 1st, J Isherwood; 2nd, V MacDonald; 3rd, L Robinson; 4th, S Bath. Water Carrying Race: 1st, R Corlett; 2nd, L Robinson; 3rd, S Bath; 4th, J Isherwood. Wak-Trot-Canter: 1st, R Corlett; 2nd, S Bath; 3rd, V MacDonald; 4th, L Robinson. Class 4
Best Rider: 1st, J Wilson; 2nd, D Tate; 3rd, S MacDonald. Washington Bending: 1st, N Sexton; 2nd, S MacDonald; 3rd, D Corlett; 4th J Wilson. Walk-Trot-Canter: 1st-, S MacDonald/N Sexton; 2nd, D Corlett; 3rd, D Tate. Musical Sacks: 1st, S MacDonald; 2nd, N Sexton; 3rd, J Wilson; 4th, D Tate. Unsaddling Race: 1st, J Wilson; 2nd, S MacDonald; 3rd, N Sexton; 4th-, D Tatb/D Corlett. Along with these events several other prizes were awarded to the riders, one being for a fancy dress section. The winners were: Fancy Dress: First H King who came as Snow White; Second M Towgood who dressed as a Soldier, and in
Third place was A King who was a Cat. Best first year rider prize went to S Alexander, Best intermediate rider was J Isherwood, best rider was J Wilson, and the most improved rider was L Robinson. Special jumping events were held and the winners in each of the three sections were: J Isherwood for the mini jump; S MacDonald for the open jump and N Sexton for the five barrel jumping. To end a most enjoyable parents and children had a bar-be-que.
