RANGITIKEI PAYMENT WORRY REMOVED
Rangitikei County Councillors have voted to increase their fees to the maximum allowable. The decision relieves future councillors of the "worry about how much to pay themselves", according to County Chief Executive Max Griffiths. He said now the precedent had been set, but that the increase would not be backdated, as some councils have done. Mr Griffiths said not all councillors favoured the increase.
