HUKUROA WARD NEEDS COUNCIL MEMBER
Hukuroa Ward's representation on the Waimarino District Council for its final six months will be decided this Wednesday. The ward's representative, Jeremy Treblecock, resigned recently and the only other candidate, Noel Akapita, is not available to fill the vacancy. Because the resignation was received earlier than six months away from the October election, council must fill the vacancy. Its options are to appoint someone or to advertise :> seek interested persons.
