INFORMATION NOT FORTHCOMING

Council staff have been asked to provide more information to motor vehicle licence applicants. Cr Peggy Frew told the council last week that she had heard complaints that applicants had not been given adequate information about what they needed to study before sitting licences. Administration manager Edith Moore said the council staff did not have an obligation provide the information, but Mrs Frew said they probably had a moral obligation. "I'm sure staff could manage to tell people that they need to obtain a road code booklet for studying for their licence," said Mayor Workman.
