OPINION

Since the Greenhouse effect theory was first hypothesised there has been much written and spoken on the matter. A short time ago scientists were saying the effects of an increase in so-called greenhouse gasses and a decrease in the ozone layer (two fact which have been measured and proved to be true) would lead to the warming of the Earth's atmosphere within 50 years (the "theory" part of the process). After two mild winters in the Ruapehu region many people are saying the greenhouse effect is already here, but is it? Or are we experiencing just another natural warm cycle? In this article, amateur meteorologist and climatologist Murray White, from Dunedin, challenges the greenhouse effect theory.
