STROKING TO THE RESCUE

Ohakune's Superdad Peter Sutton was on hand to rescue Traffic Officer Ian "Tightumi" Harrison recently when the pair were fishing at the Army's Lake Moawhango. They made it all the way across the lake with the aid of a wonderful machine called an outboard motor, but it conked out. So they had to replace the feeble little toy eggbeater with muscle power - Peter's. The way the story goes Ian and Peter couldn't swap places because it would have untrimmed the dish and turfed them into the icey depths to be devoured by a frenzy of starving trout, so Peter being in the honours seat had to do the honours and dip, dip, dip the oars the whole wav back to safetv and comfort.
