Rangiwaea Trophy

Golfers turned up in good numbers to compete for the Rangiwaea Trophy on the weekend. This is a mixed event and on the day the couples came in with scores of 1 1 up - very good golf under any circumstances. Those golfers were: Heather Cranston and James Ennis, Goldie Frazer and Pat Goldfinch, Jan Taylor and Hugh Geraghty; they share the trophy for ihe next year. Hard on their heels were T. Fredricks Jnr and Betty Berridge, and John Hammond and Elaine Goldfinch on 10 up. On 9 up were Jill Martin and Tony Donghi, John Summer-

hays and Barbara Andersen, Brian Goldfinch and Janice Donghi, and Gary Allerby and Karen Cranston. The men's four ball also produced some good golf. N. Cranston and G. Lind came home 11 up. Juniors Dean Smith and Craig McDonald were close behind on 8 up. A. Berridge and T. Spry, and B. Drinkwater and D. Herewini all finished on 7 up. Twos were scored by J. Ennis and B. Goldfinch. The Roarers Mug went to Trevor Fredericks Jnr, a young man who seems to have no trouble scoring twos. The sponsors for the day were Dekker Machinery and New World.

Another working bee next Saturday will see all trees trimmed and the club house painting finished. Everyone's presence would be appreciated by the club.
