Options for Raetihi PO
Options facing Raetihi in its bid to retain Post Office services were discussed by the Waimarino District Council last week. Ideas such as the council retaining the office building and/or taking on some of the services as an agent were mooted.
Mayor Workman told councillors he is seeking assurances that the Ohakune Post Office won't close, and has sought a policy directive from the National Party on the reinstatement of Post Offices should they become the Government. He said he was disappointed at the response to both requests so far.
