The Desert Fair held on Saturday, 1 1 March "despite the poor weather was a great success" said Major Syd Dewes, Chairman of the Desert Fair Organising Committee. "We are indeed grateful to the many organisations and clubs who gave willingly to assist. Particular note and thanks goes to the many local businesses who contributed goods and services as prizes in the monster raffle. Regrettably space limitations do not allow us to name all concerned" said Major Dewes.
