Ohakune vs Raetihi

One again the Raetihi community has been kicked in the guts. Not so long ago the BNZ bank became an agency and now we have got Ohakune stamped on all our cheque forms. Now they are going to take our post office away and Raetihi gets left with what they call a postal delivery centre. Why should it not be the other way around

and let Raetihi be the main centre and Ohakune satellite. After all said and done Raetihi has got a more permanent population to sustain all these facilities. Whatever one says or does it won't make any difference, especially with this Labour Government. Rural areas are just becoming lost identities that government departments and corporations don't want to know about. |
