Armoured take softball
The Waiouru United Softball Women's finals were played on March 18. Armoured played Navy with Armoured
running out the winners and gaining a place in the finals. Waiouru won their pre-final game by default and after a BBQ lunch and a bit of sunshine the finals began. Armoured took an early lead in the 1st
innings taking four runs. Although both teams played very well it was Armoured with its all round ability who won. Thanks from the softballers goes to all coaches, players and supporters who have
kept women's softball alive in this region. Also especially mentioned are Shell Waiouru and AGI Bulk Store who have sponsored teams, players and player of the day prizes. To all players and
supporters, March 3 will be the end of season prize giving. Coaches can be contacted for the purchase of tickets, at $5 each. Teams are advised to be in the clubhouse by 1900 (7pm) as team's presentations will commence at that time.
