JJL Murrihy District Manager WAIMARINO DISTRICT COUNCIL EXTRAORDINARY VACANCY ON COUNCIL An extraordinary Councillor vacancy has arisen on the Waimarino District Council due to the resignation of Councillor J.C. Trebilcock. Council purrsuant to Section 51 of the Local Elections and Polls Act 1976, has by resolution determined that the vacancy shall be filled by Council appointment. It is Council's intention to appoint the highest available unsuccessful candidate from the last hukaroa Ward election. Electors of the Hukaroa Ward may demand that an election be held to fill the vacancy and such an election shall be held provided that no less than five percent (5%) of the electors of the Hukaroa Ward give notice in i writing under their hand to this effect. Such demand : shall be delivered at the Council office at 1 5 Miro Street, Ohakune, not later than twenty two (22) working days after the date of this public notice - that is by 4.00 pm on Tuesday April 11 1989. Every person who signs a demand that an election be held to fill a vacancy shall clearly state, against the signature, the person's name and sddress with sufficient particularity to enable the person to be identified as an elector of the Hukaroa Ward of the Waimarino District Council.
