Night classes at college

Night classes at Ruapehu College start this week with a much wider choice of subjeets than in recent years. New classes offered include photography, computers, communications skills (which covers assertiveness training, listening and speaking skills), fabric painting, pottery, creative writing, woodwork, School Certificate English, and gymnastics for adults. The aim of the classes is to give adults opportunities for self improvement and self development, says organiser Dennis Friar. He said many of the new classes could be followed by "stage two" classes next year to allow people to continue developing in areas they start this year.
