Fire hazard

Warm, wet weather has created a potential fire hazard in Karioi Forest. The weather patterns of this summer have meant "everything is growing prolifically" including grass, according to Timberlands staff. With recent dry weather and possible strong winds in the near future the forest fire hazard could be very high because of the extra dry grass, say staff. The public are reminded to take care in the forest, not to use matches, to take care with barbecues and to report all suspicious fires
