THE WEEK'S WALLY

The following is a letter to the editor, but the Gossip column is the place for it: Dear Sir, The Wally of the Week award must surely go to a certain red headed mechanic currently setting up in business in Raetihi. After noting an advertisement for Mr J. F Coleman's clearing sale on February 11 for sundry equipment and stock he also spotted for sale "1 jenny and foal, 1 jack" (they're all donkeys). Our mechanic seriously considered buying the jack if it was suitable for his workshop. This would have led to the odd combination of a redhead and a black ass! Yours faithfully, (no, sorry ,we can't divulge our sources)
