STOCK MARKET.
At Remuera on Thursday dairy stock was penned in usual numbers and sold at late values. The store pens were well filled and competition was steady. All classes sold at recent quotations. Fat young calves were required, small 8s to 12s, medium 15s to 20s, heavy up to 635. There was an average muster of fat cattle, nearly all of choice quality. There avus steady competition throughout, but prices were easier, steers £7 10s to £19 2s 6d, the latter price was realised for an ox fattened by Westney and Co., Opotiki. Sixteen very choice steers fattened by Hall Bros, at Week's Island averaged £12 6s lOd. Cows £5 10s to £8.
Sheep were in full supply and sold freely at fair values, best wethers up to 29s 6d, others 18s to 255, ewes 28s 6d, lighter sorts 15s to 20s, hoggets 12s to 16s 6d, store sheep, ewes 8s to 13s t wethers 14s to 17s 6d, hoggets 7s to lis. Spring lambs were in demand at 13s 6d to 16s 3d.
There was a large yarding of pigs which sold freely at late rates.
