A meeting of the Show OQmmijfct/eQ took place on Saturday, December 7 t Mr, Drake being unavoidably away, Mr. Sharpe' was voted to the chair fo» the evening.
There'was q, full attendance. Ths minutes of the previqiis meeting were read by the secretary and adopted.
It was agreed that refreshments be provided and superintended by thq committee,
Date of show wg.s fixed for Friday, 28th. February, 1902.. Printing of schedules, cards etc., to be done a| the office of the Rodney Times,
A few days back Mr, Somerville had the iIL-luck £o. lo.se his cow;. It appears he had some potatoes out to dry, and the gow got one stuck in her throat, he managed to extricate it but the poor thing di#d soon after, We are having just now a much, required refreshing rain, which will make the grass spring again.
The hay crop is very poor this year, there being nothing hardly but bents, but^stillvwill be hyndyfor tho cattle in winter.
In sonic places there is a fine show for fruit, and the ravages of the Godliij. moth does not appear to affect the apples so much as in former years.
The Inspector of Schools has visited here, and I understand all passed but three, but they intend doing so next tinie, (Own Correspondent,)
