TO THE EDITOR.
Dear Sir, —On "behalf of myself ami Mrs. Underwood, we wish to thank the public of Warkworth and surrounding districts, for the kindness shown to us since taking- over the Warkworth hotel, and we also thank the many friends for their voluntary kindness in coming forward to help us in our recent persecution. "We also wish to thank the four gentleman who on our behalf —so willingly came forward to do their best for justice, should it have been required. As a i mark of our esteem for the kindness j shown to us by the public, and noticing an appeal in your paper, for the Darroch Fund, as being a cause for public sympathy—which has also been shown to us in our late trouble— we would ask you to kindly accept the enclosed amount for the above fund. With our sincere thank*. Yours respectfully, A. Underwood, Mrs. Underwood, E. Underwood. November, 12. 1901.
