The. high winds that have followed the much appreciated rains, have done considerable damage to crops and exposed orchards. rlhe migration to Auckland does not seem so o-e7ier-al this year as 4s general at hhow time.
Our Mutual improvement Society has taken a new lease of life and good meetings are hold fortnightly, at which the young people take a prominent pait. What with cricket, Lawn Tennis, Mutuals, Socials, good temperance meetings and other fillins, country life may have 111110]! of its sameness rubbed off—and is not this as it should be— recreation for mind and body will do much to reduce the doctor's Ir.bom*.
