Tho various breeds of po.ultry met with may be roughly divided into 'two; classes—namely, sitters and non-sit-i ters. Tlie sitting breeds are the largo-j st section, comprise Cochins, Brahams, '. Plymouth llocks, Lang-shahs, Wyan-i dottes, Orpingtons, Workings, the dif-i ferent kinds of game, Scotch-Greys,i Old English, Indian game, and othersl Some of the above are more inveterate i sitters than others, and even hens of j the same breed differ from ono anoth-j er ih. their sitting proclivities^ As a1 rule the more a hen is inclined to sit: the' fewer eggs will she lay ih the courre of a year, The non sitters in ' elude Black Spanish, Hamburg, -tledcaps, Andalusians, Llinorcas atid Log* horns. These birds, as a rule do not sit, but there are some exceptions. '' The hens of this class lay the bulk ofi their eggs from August to March-,
