SETTLERS CO-OPERATIVE COMPANY (Ltd.) • A special meeting of "Shareholders of the above Company was held on Friday eveningl 10th. mst!' at '7 p,ni. Tho chair was'taken by Mr."A/ J, Ilatfield ;}nr., the chairman of Director's and there was a large attendance of Shareholders. -The Chairman explained that the | object ofthis meeting was to increase! the capital of the Company to £5000 b} r the issue of eight thousand addiioual shares at ten shillings each. He then proposed the resolution increasing tthe Capital to-£soooy which was'car^ jricd unanimoush'. He also reported I that thu additional' shares had nlready boon taken np in Wade and Auckland, and that the prospect, oi: the Company were most encouraging. A general discussion amongst tho Shareholders then took place, and several of the speakers congratulated the Directors on the wisdom displayed in acquiring the old established businos.s oi' Messrs Thomasljcps <Sr Sons. !!
