Knap Wins Principal Chopping Event t The axemen's and sports meeting hpld on Saturday under the auspices of the Mamaku Sports Club on the Domain, wa? favoured by a large at•tendanee and prominent axem'en from various parts of New Zealand competed for the substantial prize-money. The weather was overcast and a cold sou th-westerly made matters unpleasant; more for the onlookers than the aetlve partieipants; .. The main event, the 14-inch chop, was won by R. Knap (20), who took first prize oi' £60. G. '{oey (6) was seeond, J. Barker (14), thirft, and W. Rapson (18) was fourth. The timo was 48s.
