MUNICIPAL MOTOR CAMP.

H. J.

FINLAY,

To the Editor. Sir,— I note that^one local resident came to my assistance in the'matter of the camp and its deplorable condition, and thank 'hina on behalf of the cattiping motorists. Do the other residents realise that the 3000 motorists who camped at the nmnicipal camp spent at least £20,000 in the town? Are you so well off that it means nothing to the , town ? This camp needs very little spent on it to make it idecent: remove some of the trees, level the isites and keep them level. Build deeent conveniences with windows to let in light and a proper drainage system. What about'hoL shower baths, a common room where campers can go when the weather is bad and -sit in front of a warm fire when the cold winds •blow and where the children can play and romp, but rnake it large enough, so as local talent can give the visitor an evening's entertainment. I take it that the residents of Rotorua, as in most towns, look on the visitors as guests and do all they can to make their stay pleasant, so that they come again. Rememher, they are paying guests. 'In my tent as I write is at least one inch of dust, while I look through the fence on camp isites covered with nice green grass. Why is my tent noi. on the green grass ? The c-ouncil, I pre-su-me, says out of bounds and as a result I live in dirt. It is all in the camp area. One of the most important points of all is: Don't move the camp site out in the cactus. In conclusion. rememher- — | Let us all be up and doing, With one min-d to agitate; Keep improving and reproving, But keep on working while we wait.

— I am, etc., Hawera.
