FIRE BRIGADE ANNUAL RE-UNIOiNi

A very large number of fire brig- | adesmen and friends assem'bled at the Ngongotaha Centennial Hall for tho annual re-union on Saturday night. | The hall was appropriately decorated for the oecasion with fems and flags, at one end with • a hydrant and the monogram N.F.B. illuminated in red. Among those present were Bupt. T. Anderson (Rotorua), Supt. Muelloi' (Waipa), ex-Supt. Mo'ore (Paeroa). Deputy-Supt. Vincent (Matamata) and memhers of the Opotiki Fire Brigade. Apologies were received from Tauranga, Mount Maunganui and Te Puke. A presentation of five-year honours was made by Supt. Anderson to Supt. S. Morrow, Deputy-Supt.. Ivan Lyle, Foreman N. Davies, Fireman J. Scanlan, of the Ngongotaha Brigade. ExSupt. Moore, of Paeroa, who has retired after 50 year's service, presented trophies won during the past yeai as follows: ' Worthington Oup and miniatuVe, tvvo jnen event: E'. C. Taylor and "LPenn. Curry Cup and miniature: E. C. Taylor. Items in a long and enthusiastie programme .were rendered hy Messrs. Hamilton, Tregilgas, Adolph, Constant,, Samuels and Cunningham. The community of Ngongotaha is very fortunate in havinlg this brigade always in readiness for any emergency. Among their mem'bers are most of the young men of Ngongotaha who are, along with the fowndation members, a keen, enthusiastie and efficient brigade, that it ensures for the people of Ngongotaha a feeling 0f security from ' disaster.
