INTEREST IN REHAB. WANING
"I feel there are indications throughout the co.untry of a conflict of loyalties regarding rehahilitation," said the j Hon. C. F. Skinner, Minister of Re1 habilitation, at the last quarterly | meeting of the Rehahilitation Council. i Mr. Skinner was commenting on his i impression cf a noticea'ble falling-off ; in community enthusiasm for rehahilitation. i j Conflict of business mterest or proj fessional interests often resulted in j such situations -as an ex-serviceman j solicitor acting for a civilian client in a appeal against transport licence being isued to another ex-serviceman, or as an old-established businessman watching with some misgiving a recently returned man heing established in a business across the street. Assistance from mem'bers of the community seemed to he wearing off; | and for that reason alone the time was arriving when Rehahilitation Council members would be able to do more than ever to assist in their important task.
