NEW POLAR COASTLINE DISCOVERED

NEW YOEK, Feb. 6. Admiral Byrd has announeed that the American Antarctic expedition, which he is leading, has diseovered a new South Pole coast line alniost the same length as the distanc^ across the United States and 125,000 square mileg of hitherto unknown continental area. Within the area, eight mountain ranges were found and a huge bay? The discoveries were made during flights by marine planes of the task, groups in the expedition. Admiral Byrd said that the expedition had come across extremely difificult conditions but a great deal had been learned. ^ Underwater Team Tests Fifteen members of the Byrd Antarctic expedition Underwater Demolition team were probably the first 111 eh to go swimming so near the South Pole when they. tried out special rubber suits for 21 minutes. No injurious physical effects were suffered. * The demolition team also tested various explosives cn Antarctic iee. All the expedition ships are ready to leave Little Ameriea.
